The story of Jesus | A survey of the Gospels
The Gospels are most relevant to us because they centre around the words and actions of Jesus and the growth of the Jesus movement in Judea and Galilee in the first century. The Gospels are called as such because they tell the Good News of the coming of the Messiah. In both First Year and Second Year Bible School, we follow the view of NT Wright concerning the Gospels, namely: The Gospels are the announcement of the end of exile of Israel (and by extent the whole world) because the King, the Messiah, has come to lead and deliver us. We can now enter the true Promised Land.
