Jesus is working to see His kingdom come around the world. We believe He is calling our kids to join Him on His mission.
This July holiday, Shofar Durbanville’s kids are going on an outreach to the kids of Bellville from 3 – 7, 9 July. The outreach team will be hosting a 3-day Holiday club for Shofar Urban’s kids and street kids who are part of a VRCID project at Shofar Urban.
As a 14-year-old, I went on my first mission. I remember feeling out of my depth and praying to Jesus, “Teach me how to be a disciple.” I had the opportunity to grapple with my own salvation, learn practically to be a disciple, reach out to others and discover my gifts. We want to create an opportunity for our kids to grow as disciples of Jesus and grow in community. We will structure the outreach like any mission, but adapted for kids! They will daily have quiet time, pray, and read the bible. We will train them to share the gospel, pray for someone and serve practically. They will present the holiday club and can serve in different areas:
- skit/drama team
- dance team
- leading a group
- preparing lunch boxes
- present a craft/game/skill.
Who can join the Outreach team?
- Gr 3 – 7 Children (Outreach Team)
2. Youth & adults
– High School learners who are part of the youth of Shofar Durbanville and keen to serve.
– Members of Shofar Durbanville who have a heart for children and a heart for the poor.
– Parents of children. This is an amazing opportunity to actively disciple your family and model Christ’s love for the lost.
This is an ideal opportunity for families to join.

- Sunday 9 July 8:00 – 11:30 – Shofar Urban (Prepare meal and serve in service)
Cost? R250 per child (includes daily snack and lunch, T-shirt)
